COOL SPOTS TO HANG OUT IN SAN DIEGO
Hiking, Outdoor spots, View Points:
- Red Rock- Del Mar: Hiking, viewpoint overlooking Del Mar, secluded
- Waterfall Hike- Rancho Penequitos Reserve: Hike, Mountain Biking Trail, waterfall/stream/pond
- Torrey Pines Glider Port: Viewpoint overlooking La Jolla, Watch Hang gliders, Hiking, Nudey Beach
- San Elijo Park- Solana Beach/Rancho: Park, Duck pond, small hiking trails leading up to viewpoint overlooking park, beautiful trees and grass fields (especially in Fall) great for picnics
- San Elijo Lagoon- Solana Beach: Shroom Caves, hiking trails, wildlife, beautiful
- Black Mountain- Hiking, beautiful view/overlook
- Box Canyon- La Costa: Hike, River/Ponds, swimming, jumping rocks (Illegal to go there, be careful!)
- the “cool” beaches: Beacon’s- Lucadia (cool Encinitas kids, secluded), Del Mar 20th street or anywhere close (Torrey Pines/cca kids), La Jolla (fun activities, good for an all day trip), D-street (Encinitas/cca kida)

- Birch Aquarium- La Jolla: $12 (i think)
- Snorkeling!- La Jolla Shores: FAVORITE, fish, sharks, tide pools, caves, grass areas, beautiful
- Wild Bird Sanctuary- behind Del Mar racetrack: $5, hold wild birds, silly little thing to do for fun
- Nickel City- Mira Mesa
- Geocaching- anywhere! super fun activity to do. like a treasure hunt with hiking and stuff, look online!

- Tide Pooling- tide park solana beach, swamis (low tide), la jolla
- Hillcrest: Good shopping, cool people watching
- Amvets: super good thrift store downtown
- Convoy- Mira Mesa: Boba, Mitsua and other Asian Markets, Dim Sum, lots and lots of Asians
- Pacific Beach: Shopping, thrift stores Hookah bars, ok beaches (kinda trashy, bros everywhere), nice smoke shops (some don’t card if you’re not 18 yet), good people watching (bros and funny people)
- Downtown: restaurants, driving around, fun to walk around at night, nice picture spots, Embarcadero, cool boats
Semi-close places to drive to for fun day-trips
- Elfin Forest/Lake Hodges: Dam, Hiking, Forest, Lake, nice drive out there, pretty area (great to watch stars)
- Salton Sea: not too close but worth it, dried up sea with bones everywhere, old buildings/cars, basically ghost town but an old sea, really cool for pictures/exploring
- Anza- Borrego Desert: Camping, Mud Caves (amazing), desert
- Julian/Ramona (one of my favorites): Forest, beautiful fields, pretty drive, amazing in winter (snow), pretty ponds and lakes, downtown julian=shopping, pie, cool stores
